Guru Nanak Sahib had stressed the need to get involved with the Truth, Recite the name of Truth, Akal, Waheguru and had preached the Sikhs to stay away from Idol worship. Guru Gobind Singh in Twaprasad Swaiye baani had said: ” Kahu lai pahan (stone) puj dhariyo sir, kahoo lai ling gare latkaiyo, Kahoo lakhiyo har awachi disha maih, kahoo pacha ko sees niwayeo. Kou butan ko pujat hai pas, kou mritan ko pujan dhaiyo. Koor kirya urjhaiyo sabh hi jag sri bhagwan ko bhed na paiyo”
He clearly says that you should preach the True God in whatever name you want to recite.
Its okay if someone doesn’t want to follow the path and the advice of Guru Nanak Sahib and Guru Gobind Singh, but do not make stone idols of Sikh Gurus who have desisted the Sikhs to keep away from all these methods of preaching and recite the name of the Almighty Waheguru ( The name may differ in different religions, but it points to one and only only God, Allah, Parmatma, Waheguru)
I request the Jathedar Sahib of Sri Akal Takht Sahib to kindly create awareness among Sikhs at least by issuing a Hukamnama, of not to worship any pseudo photos or idols of Guru Nanak Sahib or any of the 10 Sikh Gurus.
Very soon Guru Nanak Sahib’s Prakash Utsav will come and many Gurdwaras put up big hoardings of Guru Nanak Sahib on the Gurdwara’s Building 4 feet to 20 feet banners, to attract sangat, which is wrong. @ShiromaniGuruPrabhandakCommitte should solve this problem asap.
Very temples have started this new trend of installing the idols of Guru Nanak Sahib to misguide the Sikhs and pollute the Sikhism faith.
